Heck, by looking at it, its almost like the pads were made to be there originally hahaha. i dont see those marks anymore, sleepmode works. i used this trick a long while ago, and it works like a charm. no more scratches, and theyre just perfectly shaped and add the perfect height for both screen stop touching each others without making the 3DS stay open.
Stick 2 of them on your top screen top-corners, and voilĂ . get those small rubber feet from a 360, you can pull them off easy since the glue used for them isnt permanent. i used the great xbox 360 rubber feet technique. Yeah, that screen scratch is a problem for many of us. My original gameboy brick and NES works to this day! I had mine for two days over a month when I contacted Nintendo about the issue. This is especially odd since my son has had his since May, and he has no signs of screen wear. If you gently run your finger nail across the screen, it would sink into the groove.
You can actually feel inscribed grooves! I've cleaned it like crazy to try to get rid of them. They sent a prepaid shipping label and the rest is I did all of that.
I called and they set me up with a free repair. They said if this problem is happening, they want to hear from everyone it's happening to. NOA emailed me back two hours later and gave me a number to call. I then contacted NOA by email explaining the situation and how this is a new 3DS, this whole problem is obviously a design flaw, for which I will not pay additional money to fix their problem (no swear words were used ). When I first requested the order, the site told me that they would charge around 50 bucks to fix it! I only had red 3ds for about a month when the cuts showed up.
